Community involvement is one of the founding principles of CMK Select, and is reflective of our corporate vision. Supporting local, community-based organizations that recognize and meet the needs of the communities where our employees live, work and volunteer are just a few of the ways we give back. We recognize that our community contributes to many of our successes and that as a corporate citizen, CMK Select should participate and contribute to our community and greater causes.
In addition to our monetary donations to a number of organizations, we have also participated in events that reinforce our commitment to corporate citizenry. We are proud that our employees are very involved, serving as board members, event planners and volunteers for a variety of organizations.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), founded in 1949, is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. CMK Select participates annually in one of LLS’s key fundraising events, Light The Night (LTN) These LTN walks are held during the fall throughout the country, and are an amazing celebration of light to drive out the darkness of cancer through research and cures. This year, in the fall, our community will Light The Night at the walk where we gather together to celebrate, honor and remember those touched by cancer.
Rick Kilcoyne, Managing Partner of CMK Select, has been working with Dr. Linda Cerino, Principal of St. Michael’s School in Newark, N.J. on developing a plan on how CMK Select can support the safe haven school, the students, and the curriculum.
In support of this inspirational school, CMK Select is supporting all of the teachers and their needs for their classrooms, so they can keep their curriculum current and forward thinking. Tunnel 2 Towers (T2T) is a foundation that raises millions of dollars for various charities who support the FDNY and other first responders who were killed on 9/11.
ReClam the Bay is dedicated to providing hands-on education regarding the environmental benefits of shellfish filtering, feeding and the resulting cleaning of the waters of Barnegat Bay. The goal is to involve the general public in shellfish-oriented stewardship activities so that residents can better understand that water quality and habitat protection are everyone’s responsibility, and that healthy shellfish populations help restore and maintain estuarine water quality.
The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
The Wounded Warrior Project aims to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members and to help injured service members aid and assist each other. They provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members, and foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.
Sea Paddle NYC was created in 2007 and serves as the Surfers’ Environmental Alliance’s primary fundraiser. It is a 25 mile paddle around Manhattan and was recently honored as the “2014 SUP Awards Top Philanthropic Effort” by SUP magazine. Through paddler fundraising, corporate sponsorship and ancillary events, it raises money for environmental preservation and numerous autism non-profits.
